trueBrowns x Kihoy DIY Rakhi Workshop

This Raksha Bandhan, we wanted to do something a little different. Not just sell — but create. So we called up Suparna from Kihoy Accessories, and together, we put together a two-day Online DIY Rakhi Workshop for our tB Tribe.

The idea was simple: make your own rakhi, from scratch, with your own hands. For your brother. For your sister. For someone you love.

How It Worked

Once registered, a DIY Rakhi kit landed at your doorstep — everything you needed, packed and ready. No running to craft stores, no last-minute scrambling. Just open the kit, join the session, and let Suparna guide you through the rest.

Being online meant anyone could join, from any city, any corner of the country. And that felt right.

Suparna & Kihoy

Suparna Bahinipati is the founder of Kihoy Accessories — a sustainable textile jewellery brand that transforms leftover fabrics into handcrafted wearable art. She's also been conducting jewellery-making workshops for people worldwide, and her ability to make a first-timer feel completely at ease is something special.

Having her lead this workshop felt like a natural fit.

Why We Did This

Raksha Bandhan has always been about the gesture behind the gift. And there's something about a handmade rakhi, the time it takes, the thought that goes into it that a store-bought one simply can't replicate.

We wanted our tB Tribe to experience that. To slow down for an afternoon, make something with their hands, and tie it on with a little more meaning this year.
